Summer Onboarding Sessions

Session 1: July 11th - 29th, Monday - Friday, 9 am - 12:30 pm

Session 2: July 9th - 27th, Monday - Friday, 1 pm - 4:30 pm

Session 3: July 16th - August 3rd, Monday - Friday, 9am - 12:30 pm

Summer Onboarding Sessions ensure you obtain your Student Education Plan, complete financial aid forms, guided career exploration, and become familiar with the campus as well as the academic support resources. Students in a Summer Onboarding Session also have access to optional, summer classes below:

  • Biology 3A/B, June 11th - August 19th, Monday - Thursday, 8 am - 10:30 am

  • Computer Science 900, June 11th to July 22nd, Mondays & Wednesdays, 8 am - 11:05 am and Online (5.5 hours per week)

  • Marketing 023, June 18th  - July 29th, Monday - Thursday, 8 am - 10 am

  • Art 103, June 18th - July 29th, 12:40 pm - 2:50 pm

Do I need to participate in the First Year Pathways?

2018 LAUSD GRADUATES receive free tuition through the Los Angeles College Promise (LACP) grant. An FYP Success Coach will sit with you to ensure you understand LACP requirements, provide support to complete grant requirements by ensuring you have support to

  • Complete FAFSA or CA Dream Act application
  • Enroll in a Pathway Summer Session
  • Enroll full time for Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 First Year Pathway classes (or other approved option)
  • Meet with a Pathway Counselor And Success Coach every semester
  • Complete the 2018-2019 school year with a minimum 2.000 GPA

All other 2018 high school graduate must apply and qualify for the California College Promise Grant. Students that opt out of the First Year Pathway will lose guaranteed full-time enrollment for the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019, will not have access to the Pathway Counselor or Success Coach. You may also lose eligibility for the LACP Grant.

May I join First Year Pathways at a later date? 

You must enroll in a 2018 Summer Session to join First Year Pathway. You cannot enroll at a later date.
