Failure to meet the following deadlines will result in denial of aid for the entire award year.
Pell Grant Deadlines
For Pell Grants, a valid electronically processed FAFSA must be received by the college from the U.S. Department of Education before the last date of the semester for which you are enrolled.
Fall 2023 courses that begin after 10/30/2023 are not financial aid eligible.
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) disqualification Appeal Deadlines:
Summer 2023: August 7, 2023
Fall 2023: November 10, 2023
Winter 2024: January 19, 2024
Spring 2024: April 26, 2024
If you have been disqualified for financial aid, you have the opportunity to appeal the disqualification. Appeal forms are available through the Financial Aid Office page under the Forms section. You are required to attend a Financial Aid workshop before you can submit an appeal. You will lose your Pell Grant eligibility if you don’t submit your complete financial aid appeal paperwork by the deadline.
Direct Loan Deadline:
For Fall 2023 only students: November 10, 2023
For Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters, or the Spring 2024 semester only: April 26, 2024
CAL Grant Deadline
March 2 – Cal Grant A, B Entitlement and Competitive awards and Cal Grant C award.
September 2 – Second chance deadline for community college students to apply for a Cal Grant B. Since the number of awards available in September is limited, it is best to apply by March 2.
(Students applying for the CAL Grant through the Dream Act application are not eligible for the second chance deadline and must apply before the March 2 deadline.)
