WLAC Tech Fair – Spring 2017
Call for Presenters - Submit proposals to TechFairSpring17.
Deadline: Monday, January 9, 2017
We are seeking presenters for the Spring 2017 Tech Fair @ West. Workshops will take place in February, March, April, and May 2017.
Presenters are asked to prepare for one hour: about 45 minutes of presentation and 15 minutes of questions and answers. The format is flexible. The grants can fund $350 stipends to presenters for developing and presenting their workshop. The real benefit, though, will be the faculty-to-faculty exchanges as we all learn more about what is possible in using technology in our courses and student services. We would like workshops to be designed for a small group setting so faculty and staff can have more discussion, and ideas can be shared and customized for individual disciplines and departments.
We are also seeking presenters for Tech Fair webinars, which are conducted through CCCConfer.
We are looking for workshops to share effective practices, tools, tips, and techniques under 3 tracks:
TECHNOLOGY & THE CLASSROOM – Presentations in this track focus on discussing and demonstrating instructional technology strategies, techniques, issues, and solutions. Sample topics include course design, copyright, accessibility, computer software technology tips, student learning outcomes, etc.
DIGITAL CAMPUS – Presentations in this track focus on technologies that enhance campus services, activities, or processes. Sample topics can include online systems and support services such as ETUDES-NG, ADX, Online Digital Curriculum Storage, Online Library Services, DegreeWorks, Electronic Curriculum Development System, etc.
WEB 2.0 & SOCIAL SOFTWARE – Presentations in this track focus on tools that support the joint creation of content, user-centered design, and collaboration. Sample topics can be in the areas of blogs, wikis, ePortfolios, GoogleDocs, Facebook, etc.
Please visit the link below and fill out the presenter proposal form if you are interested in presenting a workshop. Feel free to forward this message to others who may be interested in presenting.
