Grand Prize: one ticket to a black-tie dinner event on Feb. 2 with keynote speaker, US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts

Essay Question: Why is the judicial branch, particularly United States Supreme Court, an important branch of government?

ADJUNCT FACULTY BENEFITS

Adjunct faculty benefits enrollment for 2008 will be between January 15, 2008 and February 15, 2008.

2008 MILEAGE RATE

Effective with any personal automobile mileage which is incurred for properly documented college business purposes after January 1, 2008, the LACCD has increased its mileage reimbursement to 50.5 cents per mile

West LA College Receives Nearly $2.3 Million to Enhance Student Learning & Access to College.

West Los Angeles College recently received two Title V grants targeted at improving student and faculty access to the internet as a learning and teaching tool. Enhancing "distance learning" or online class opportunities to facilitate greater student retention is also target.  [click for more]

The following former employees and friends of West passed away in December 2007. Our condolences to the families.

The wife of Art Babb, formerly in Academic Affairs -Cards and condolences may be sent to the Babb Family through the General Counsel's Office at the District Office.

Michael Briggs, the first library cataloger at WLAC. In addition to his duties in the library, Michael was active in the Academic Senate and the AFT faculty guild.
