Student Fee Increase
The Governor just signed the 2009-2010 Budget, which includes an enrollment fee increase from $20.00 per unit to $26.00 per unit. This fee increase is effective for the Fall 2009 semester. This fee increase affects all students enrolling for the Fall, including those who have already registered.
Students who applied for financial aid for 2009-2010 and qualified for the Board of Governors Fee Waiver are fully covered; no further action is required. Students who have not yet applied for financial aid are encouraged to apply now to help cover the cost of fees, books, and other educational expenses.
Seven Things Students Need to Do This Spring
It can be difficult to keep track of all that is needed to do throughout the school year. This spring and/or summer, review the following seven critical tasks.
- Review your Student Aid Report and make corrections, if necessary.
- Be sure you or your parents complete your tax returns so you can update your Student Aid Report, if necessary.
- Evaluate all financial aid offers carefully. Ask questions!
- Consider grants, work-study and other aid you don't have to repay before accepting a student loan.
- Let the financial aid office know the financial aid awards you're accepting and the ones you're declining.
- Look for a summer job, or consider summer school or an internship.
- Arrange for housing, if necessary.
