    In an effort to continue protecting candidates and employees from the spread of COVID-19, GED testing at West has been suspended until January 7, 2021 . You can log in GED.com to search open sites in the area and we will ensure to update our hours when our campus is re-opened for in-person services and instruction.

Welcome to the Learning Center at West Los Angeles College. We provide FREE academic support services to ALL current West LA College students. Our goal is your goal: STUDENT SUCCESS! We achieve this goal by facilitating learning and improving student academic achievement through active and independent learning activities as a collaboration between tutors and students. The LC is comprised of following areas:

  • General Subject Tutoring Area
  • The Writing Lab
  • General Academic Computer Commons
  • The Math Lab
  • The Communications Lab
  • 6 study rooms (drop-in use or by reservation for use by two or more students)

 

General Subject Tutoring

  • FREE tutoring for most college course by faculty-recommended tutors
  • Small group tutoring for most academic subjects

 

Writing Lab

  • One-on-one writing consultations
  • Assistance with all stages of the writing process in all disciplines

 

General Academic Computer Commons

  • 60 Computers are available for internet research and general academic purposes
  • Fee-based printing and copying

 

The Math Lab

  • Space is available for faculty reservations
  • Has seating capacity for 28 students
  • 10 computers and 20 tablets are available for student use

 

The Communications Lab 

  • 6 computer workstations with special headsets and microphones for Communication Studies students to record their presentations and upload them to their course website
