Topics to be addressed:

Identifying Signs and Symptoms That Someone Might Need Help:
Information about various mental health disorders, how to identify when someone might be in crisis, and what interventions may be used to help the situation. -
Prevention: Self-Care and Mental Health:
Explore the connection between mental health and self-care (exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress, etc.), and will share some techniques to help the students deal with many of the stressors young adults often face. -
Addressing Stigma Associated with Mental Health:
Address the stigma associated with seeking mental health treatment in some communities of color, and how we can all help reduce stigma and support people seeking care when needed. -
Resources Available to Help with Mental Health Needs:
Local low-cost/no-cost mental health and social service resources that students can access. A handout with the combined resources available through WLAC, Masada, and other local community organizations, as well as the National Crisis Hotline and other important numbers and links.
