Academic Programs & Services
West offers close to 1,000 classes in 12 different academic disciplines. We confer Associate Degrees for Transfer and Associate Degrees in 41 subject areas including 26 for University Transfer. We award 25 types of Certificates for leading industries.

Accelerated Programs, Learning Communities & Special Programs
- For High Schoolers: While still in high school, students can earn college credit. West also has Upward Bound programs to provide academic assistance to high school students and provide guidance in selecting and being accepted to colleges and universities.
- For "Non-Traditional" & Low Income Students: EOPS, TRiO, CalWORKs, Rising Scholars
- Affinity Groups: Black Scholars United (BSU), Puente, NextUp (Foster Youth)
- For Working Adults: 8-week classes are a great option for students with work and/or family obligations. By taking only 2 classes in Semester Session #1 and 2 classes in Semester Session #2, you are attending full-time and are entitled to the financial aid and support services tied to full-time enrollment status. Using the searchable schedule, you can look for just 8-week classes or the other great option, Online Classes.
