Assistance for Low Income, 1st Generation & Under-Represented Students

  • BASIC NEEDS: Assists students experiencing food insecurity or in need of free professional attire
  • CALWORKS: Offers financial assistance, vocational and job skills training for CalWORKs participants
  • EOPS: Provides book vouchers, tutoring, academic counseling and priority enrollment for low-income, 1st generation college students and other non-traditional college students...also check out TRiO

Cultural & Other Affinity Groups

  • BLACK SCHOLARS UNITED: Provides community and success services for African American students and others
  • DISABLED STUDENTS PROGRAMS & SERVICES (DSPS): Assists physically and learning disabled students achieve success in college courses
  • DREAM CENTER: Aids AB504 and undocumented students 
  • GUARDIAN SCHOLARS / FKCE / CAYFES: Provides academic and other support for current and past Foster Youth
  • INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Assists International Students with enrollment, reporting requirements and finding their way in a new country
  • PUENTE:  Aims at creating a bridge for students between West and four-year universities by creating a sense of Familia
  • TRANSFER HONORS: Join a community of students with a university transfer goal who receive priority admission consideration to competitive universities.
  • VETERANS OFFICE: Help Veterans access their full academic benefits and navigate college processes

For Working Adults, Student Parents & Mature Students

  • Prep & Accelerated Classes, Services and Resources: Free pre-college level classes to get you up-to-speed; Accelerated 8-week and online classes to fit your schedule; Fee Waivers and other financial aid; Online 24/7 access to tutoring; CARE support services and funds for parents
  • Child Care: The WLAC Child Development Center provides low-cost and free childcare for the pre-school age children of WLAC students
